People are more fed up with dating apps than ever. But the prospect of approaching someone in the wild? Absolutely terrifying. Call it screen-dependence or post-COVID isolationism, but many of us have lost the confidence to give out our number the old fashioned way.

So in 2026, I put my advertising career on pause to launch a business. It was hands down the scariest thing I’ve ever done, but in the first 2 months I was fortunate enough to sell out twice, pay my rent, and rack up 2 million organic views across Instagram and TikTok.

Can you tell I’ve had fun playing influencer?

In June, I turned all of my dating profiles into ad space for the business.

I may have gotten banned from Hinge, but I’d say the 50 orders and 500k views made up for it.

In July, I gave out my number to one guy a day for 31 days and documented the whole thing. Yes, I’m still exhausted.
